  • Make marginalized and disadvantaged communities self-reliant in socio-economic and political sector through self-reliant programmes
  • Conduct awareness and functional programs for community empowerment
  • Create employment generation through capacity building on agriculture, forestry, health and education.
  • Strengthening capacity of schools for quality education to boys and girls in rural schools.
  • Carry out program activities to minimize social discrimination and untouchability.
  • Work to build a just and healthy culture by reducing gender, ethnic and other discriminatory practices and norms, inequity and other social evils.
  • Mobilize youth in development interventions for promoting inclusive, transparent and accountable services at local.
  • Integrated Community Development: JDS firmly believes in integrated community development embracing agriculture, Forestry, livelihoods, education, awareness, health, advocacy, empowerment and infrastructure development for alleviating widespread poverty.
  • Rights based approach: JDS adopts rights based approach to empower right holders through building capacities of the target groups so that they can lead the campaign for their rights through education, awareness and organized action.
  • Gender and Social Inclusion: JDS believes that No One should leave behind in development and governance reform process and all men and women, boys and girls from different caste and ethnic groups should be benefitted but the priority should be given to most poorer, marginalized and disadvantaged groups.
  • Community participation: JDS ensures the proactive involvement and participation of all its stakeholders at all levels (organization and program)
  • Partnership, collaboration with stakeholders: JDS works in partnership, co-ordination and collaboration with stakeholders, including the marginalized groups at the grass roots in different communities and with like-minded organizations, CBOs, local government bodies and government line agencies.
  • Local resource mobilization: JDS believes that local resources mobilization is necessary for sustaining the development efforts initiated in the target community/stakeholders
